Catholics take part in Bible meet

About 500 people from all 15 Myanmar dioceses have attended the 2nd National Biblical Apostolate workshop.

Bishop John Hsane Hgyi, president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Myanmar, Bishop Basilio Athai, chairman of the Episcopal Commission for Biblical Apostolate, two archbishops and four bishops also took part in the event. The March 1-6 was organized by the Episcopal Commission for Biblical Apostolate at the Our Lady of Holy Rosary Shrine in Chanthargone, Mandalay archdiocese.

Participants listened to experiences on faith life, sang hymns and took part in Bible quizzes relating to the “Word of God.” Many said the event has strengthened their faith and prayer life.

The Episcopal Commission for Biblical Apostolate in Myanmar has since its launch in 2007 been organizing several programs emphasizing the importance of the Bible.
